 Background:
The i12S inflatable is the newest member of the fleet. In our fall testing session we knew we were onto something when we STOOD UP IN THE BOAT OUT ON THE WATER! This boat is so stable it’s like being in a pontoon boat. Inflatable boats have been around since World War II and are designed for portability, light weight and maximum stability. In our side by side tests with the Outback the boats seemed nearly identical in speed. The i12S comes complete with a hand pump and can be fully inflated by hand in just minutes. It comes with a nifty rolling Cordura nylon bag luggage that be check on an airplane or packed into the trunk of your car. The i12S is perfect for RV’ers, anyone that has limited storage space or people that don’t like lifting their kayak up onto the roof of the car. One added difference to the i12S is that it has the greatest amount of leg length adjustment of any of the Mirage kayaks. One of our testers is 6’5” and noticed that in the maximum settings the i12S had more leg length than any other Hobie Mirage kayak. Available in hi-vis bright Sundance yellow or a more subdued Sage green.
